How much does job security in your next role matter to you? According to the WSJ, a greater percentage of accountants are leaving the profession later in their careers now than in years past, and the WSJ is saying that job security in other industries matters less and less. Thought it was interesting, as I'm very much factoring in job security in my next move.

There is no job security anymore. It’s all numbers and margins now. You can be great at what you’re doing but two people in India will still be cheaper than you at the end of the day.

I am currently a biomedical engineer at @U.S. Food and Drug Administration with over two years of experience. I would like to hear everyone's experience navigating the GS increase (salary raise) as a government employee. Here are some questions for discussion. How long did it take you to be promoted to the next pay grade? What do you think contributed the most to that salary increase? If you transitioned into the private sector, what drove you to make this decision? Thanks!

I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. I’m 5 yrs out of college. Any advice?

What did the first 10 years of your career look like? How many jumps did you make? Where did you work? Audit or tax? PA, government, industry? Pay increases? City-size/CoL? Would love to get enough responses to see any trends related to how long you stayed at your first firm.

I would like to stay in tech and I’m giving it a few weeks before I start pivoting to more traditional supply chain roles. Thanks.
