If a brief is one page, a resume is one page.
Your job as a strategist is to distill complex information and communicate it simply. Let your resume be another proof point you can do that.
If a brief is one page? Lmao
The resume is there for 3 reasons:
1. Show career trajectory. This is done through titles, increased responsibility, managing more people, more impactful projects/brands
2. Provide an easy for verification that you have the righ background or experience for the job an employer is looking to fill
3. Provide seeds to spark further conversation when you get to the interview
You don’t need a ton of info to do that. Employer and title and a couple of high level bullet points. It doesn’t have to be a comprehensive history of everything you’ve done. Too much info just becomes impossible to get through.
Personally, I just list be agency name, and then the clients I worked on there. I don’t add any “flavor” beyond that.
I highlight what’s interesting to my story as a planner but don’t get verbose. Also you can have a portfolio as a planner! Go for it. Remember the goal is to tell your story in a provocative way just like with a good creative brief
AD2 - it should be!
The only thing a resume does for me is agree to meet. I want/need to know that a potential hire is a) a good fit, and b) smart and interesting
Go nuts if you’re talking about something online like a website or linked in... in those contexts it’s less about someone reading it and more about people looking for people like you (search terms)
