How much of a market is there for motion designers who do work for UX/product design? I see positions like this come up in job listings sometimes and as someone who is currently working as a UX designer and has a BFA in animation I do have to say it sounds interesting. How does one become this type of designer?

Is it easier to go from McK to BCG or Deloitte to BCG? If one is easier, how much easier? And do BCG recruiters ever poach from McK or is that a big no-no?

What are good sectors to specialise in if I wanted to keep my options open?

I’m still a generalist but see people 1-2 years above me beginning to align. I frankly don’t really have any particular sector interest, but choosing based on “who i vibe with” sounds a bit silly (esp if you plan to exit)

Considering that the end of this year will probably signal the start of a recession, is this a bad time to jump into a new role in Pharma?

I‘ve joined Globant 3 months back. They have offered me very good CTC & the position is Senior Developer. I’m on bench till date & there are few more too. After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Any recommendations on good online courses for someone looking to explore Ux design? I am a service designer looking to learn more about ux design to broaden my design experience. I am looking for courses that help you build a portfolio and eventually land a job in product and experience design. I am checking out product design courses at dribble, Brian station and careerfoundry but haven’t found more independent reviews or comparisons.

Question from a recent UX Bootcamp grad: I currently have a single case study in my portfolio. Upon reading somewhere that 2 case studies are required to be considered by recruiters, I stopped applying to jobs for about 2 months as I work on a second case study when I can.

Recruiters, Leads, PM’s etc., how do you feel about applicants with a single CS to show?

Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.
