How much savings are decent for an early retirement at 40 ?

I am 32 married, living in a tier 3 city in the parental home since corona. No plans to buy any home.

#Take home is 2 lakhs after tax and deductions.
#1.1 CR in stocks , growing at a rate of 35% a year
# 25 lakhs in mutual funds, growing at 22%
# 12 lakhs PPF
# small plot of 20 lakhs in hometown.

Stopped saving now and spending all of my salary. Is that a right approach or should I continue to save 50-60k a month?

1.1 Cr in stocks? :o growing at 35% how?

I have a fair amount of experience with financial markets

Spending 2L in Tier3 city while staying in own house sounds tough to believe.
Do you plan to continue stock market trading/investing as full time career after FIRE? If not, assuming 35% growth for sustained period is bad idea.

Coming to the key question, corpus size depends on individual needs. Please model your annual expenses, consider inflation of 6-7% atleast on these, then the big spends related to kids education, marriage etc. and calculate corpus needed to meet the requirements.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

I am selling house and remodeling both master bath and kids bath. Got quote for 29k for both and I buy floors and cabinets.question is I have a very big whirlpool tub and tiles around it discolored. It’s a hassle to lift it up change the tiles and fixtures and put it back. It’s old but works great. Remodeling ppl recommend get rid of it, give space to buyers if they want to buy standalone tub. I thought it adds value to have whirlpool tub. But can’t even change fixture. Should I get rid of it?
