20 - CSP, 21 - CSR, when you see the ROI and can pass minimum spends through your clubs, internships, fraternity / sorority, business fraternity, etc. expenses it actually can make a lot of sense at an early age if you can be responsible

26M. Didn’t get one yet. I find that most travel I do is through alt travels or using points. For restaurants I liked the 4% from uber but I guess that’s going away.

My first card to my own name was the Amex Plat at 20. I had been an authorized user for ~2 years on a parent’s credit card. Not sure how I got approved.
Amex platinum is actually not hard at all to get approved for since you can’t carry a balance

18 - Amex Plat, back when there was a first year fee waived on the Ameriprise version. Little know fact is that the approval qualifications are the same for Plat/gold/green since they are all charge cards.
