[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Find a new job. There’s no way around places with poor planning and inadequate timelines.
Work less. The world won’t stop turning.
I had the same problem at my last job. What helped me:
1- FORCE yourself to take 15-20min every day (or every other) to just go away from your computer. Get coffee, go for a walk, catch up with a coworker friend. Just literally anything so you aren’t looking at your computer; your brain needs a time-out to recharge.
2- Figure out where you can cut corners. If a few “i”s aren’t dotted here and there, the campaign will still be okay. Be realistic with yourself.
3- Towards end of day, assess what is DUE today and absolutely needs to get done right now Vs what can push. Focus, prioritize and be honest with yourself. I found that at a point, a lot of my overtime hours were spent prepping for the next day so it was just causing a vicious cycle that I was never “done”.
4- Speak with your manager and say numbers “I worked until 8-9pm every day the past two weeks”. Suggest what can be moved to someone else, ask to work remotely more often — anything that will help you.
5- Prioritize your resume and job seeking plan. Get outta there and get your life back.
It sucks, remember to take time for self-care and good luck!!
Stop #selfcare the sun will rise tomorrow regardless if you work 13 or 8hrs

Why are you working so much? Are you being given too much by your AD? Do you have any direct reports that you can delegate to?
Sounds like your agency is understaffed.
Schedule a vacation a couple months from now. Get the time off. Get the hotel. Make it official. Now you’ve got light at the end of the tunnel.
