Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

First manager role was in the Navy as a junior officer. They make you a manager on day one. You are wildly unqualified for the position and everyone knows it, they resent you for it,and you can't blame them. You have to lead a team, most of whom are older, more experienced and knowledgeable than you. But being put in this position does force you to learn quickly, it's just a really hard way to do it.

Doing the same. Following for insight
American Express “Manager” doesn’t actually manage people. You’ll make Senior Manager in about 2 years and still likely won’t manage people (maybe 1 analyst if lucky). Then another 2-3 years later when you are Director, you would have your first team to manage. After director there’s another 3-5 years to VP.
Amex is good for their work life balance and has decent pay but slow career progression compared to consulting. An EM may exit at the VP level. AP to a tenured VP and Partner to President (which would otherwise take 30 years at Amex).
I interviewed for Amex “Manager” role out of grad school and researched a lot during that time. People with 1-2 yoe and a grad degree can make it. You should probably aim for a Senior Manager.
My best friend is a senior manager currently and not ‘managing’ anyone. They told me about an ex McK AP who’s a VP at Amex and an ex McK partner who joined as a President.
A2, VP at Amex > VP at bank. They have many many levels or bands within VP. Person who interviewed me was a VP with 20 YOE.
Bottom line, if you want to switch for work life balance and have time pursue other interests or a side hustle then Amex is really good.
