I did a first round with them, it's very high level. I work in security so it was "what security trends do you see crossing industries?" "What would you say is the top threat organizations face right now?" With big four it was very network/security architecture related and the type of work I've done in the past.
Damn.. Sounds tough to break through. Thanks again for sharing
Yup! I recommend applying, you never know.
In my opinion, no haha. You'd prob be making 135-140 when u leave, which is what managers make. Just really depends if u hate ur ho enough to incur the 120k student loan debt. To some it's worth it if they wanna switch fields.
McK here, you have to have an advanced degree (MBA/JD/PHD/MD level) to be hired as an associate; even masters students are often hired as BAs. If you're an experienced hire you might be able to be hired straight into associate, but often you'll be hired as a BA with potential to make ASC quicker than a regular BA
Also anecdotal but seems like caliber of school varies widely by office (apparently Pittsburgh recruits a lot from Carnegie Mellon but I know zero people in NYO from there)
Thanks for the info. Did you pass on the next round or not make it?
Also, is it really required to have a top MBA to even get in the room?
I don't haha but IT is very different, especially with the demand in security, MBAs aren't required. For strategy, it's pretty tough, at least without some sort of MS. I just got an email from a recruiter one day. It was a weird experience, I thought the interview went well but I honestly never heard back. I emailed the recruiter and called...she never responded.
Thanks I will. Def need to get the mba first and prob move up in the ranks a bit more
A friend of mine went to Bain straight from undergrad. Not sure what your level is now, but if you're willing to come in as an associate/analyst might not hurt applying.
Senior level, up for manager next year. Not sure how important getting th MBA is anymore. Is it worth the debt? 🤔
Ho=job*
Gotcha.
Great insight. Much appreciated thanks
