The cases and clients are very interesting and the work is very substantive, but the teams are lean considering we work on big cases. So, not a lifestyle firm. But I really like the people I work with and our bonuses are very high (like 60% over market in many cases)
How’s the environment and culture?
For anyone in that area, you should jump all over this.
~2300 has been my average, but I’ve been on multiple trial teams for major clients in the last few years. I know people who have got the full 60% above market bonus with 2100 hours if they are doing a good job
Also hiring in the Newport office
I don’t have enough hearts to DM (lol) but am interested in this position!
You should email your resume, cover letter and transcript to our office manager, rsteele@hueston.com - Robyn
Do you have a sense for what they’re looking for in associates from an application perspective? GPA, clerkships, etc.?
For sure, we have multiple people who clerked for 2-3 years
What’s your average billables the past couple years? I make market and above market bonuses but am working less than 2100 the past couple years with great reviews and little pressure to take on more.
Need to be CA barred I assume?
No actually, we regularly hire people with NY or DC bar only (or even no bar if coming from a clerkship) with the understanding you will take the CA bar in the first year. Then you get 2 shots at it
Any insight into what class year they are looking for?
Last year was mid October
Hello, recognizing this was a while ago, but are there still hiring needs? Also general question if you don’t mind: do folks typically work in a particular practice area e.g. white collar or associates more general litigation focused? Thank you!
