Human Capital consultant here applying to MBB. On the chance I don’t get an offer this round, out of the Big 4 which should I target and which practice within each firm should I apply to gain the skill set needed to enter into MBB?

Hi all! Need a quick help! I have a 2 year work ex at ZS Associates (pharma consulting) and planning to switch to a Data Science career. I have received offer from Walmart Global Tech and BCG Gamma and not sure which one to consider. Which one would be more appropriate to kick off a career in Data Science ? One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Do any of the big firms pay for ur master? If they do is it a full-ride scholarship?

Made the pivot from Big 4 to Bain and frankly underwhelmed. Seems like Bains Ops capabilities / general knowledge resources / white papers are lagging the industry quite a bit. Miles behind BCG / McKinsey as well. Literally only good for PE and nothing else.

Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?
