Platinum has so many offers that it pays for itself. $100 at Dell, $100 at Best Buy, $100 at Home Depot, $180 for Uber (or Uber eats), $100 at Saks, $200 flight incidental, $180 for using PayPal, $160 for streaming services (Spotify), $160 for my cell phone bill... I made money off this card in the past 12 months.

The Home Depot and Best Buy offers are good until end of June

Depends on your spending patterns. I have both the reserve and amex platinum and love it
I just got the gold and so far so good. I o my spend money on restaurants groceries and travel which I think are all the perks
I have my own CSR and a joint Amex gold with my fiancé. I prefer redeeming Chase points over Amex points but I do really like that Amex gold includes 4x points for groceries. Both have good other perks (CSR: dashpass and lyft pink; Amex: uber eats pass and dining credits and airline credits). We spend enough that it’s worth having both, so I would say it depends on your spending levels and patterns
How did you get the intro offer for 70k points?
Just got it in my mail
It’s 60k right now?
As a consultant that does a lot of DD work that is mostly non-travel, the Amex Gold is a killer card. And when a project does require me to travel, i get 3x on flights so I still get a very good bump there. Only downfall is no lounge access. For my lifestyle Gold > Platinum
Got it. I don’t fly for work anymore so it’s annoying
