Accenture - interviewing for Asset Management - Consultant. Coming from industry, made it onto ‘Skills Interview’ website makes it out to be an in-depth resume review. Any additional info on the process. Also, any tips moving forward in interview process, especially given industry - consulting transition. Thanks!
Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?
I applied with EY for a Senior Manager role I had my first stage interview with a senior manager, which I thought went well as I got the partner interview 2 weeks later, and said I'll be contact within 10 day HR. This did not happen so I chased up. Today I received feedback from HR stating that the senior manager, who would have been my peer, said I didn't have enough experience. But the partner who I would have been working under did like me.
Is this normal with EY recruitment
Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.

I did mine through university of texas. It was in person on the weekends. I got my job with AP through on campus recruiting and we heavily recruit from that program.
It sounds like your experience would fit into TRS but the nice part of the MBA is you get a reset to some degree. You may consider trying to get into Performance Improvement (PI) which is your more traditional management consulting. It pays a bit better (about 10-15%) and it is marginally less stress as you aren’t up against bankruptcy court deadlines. Feel free to DM with any questions.
Don’t do TRS. PI is a lot more fun and it pays materially more. It’s at least 30% more. Trust me, I’m in TRS
It’s an extremely selective firm, so it’s tough to say a high number. If you broadly target TRS, I think you would have a decent shot, but it’s hard to say where you’ll end up.
Why TRS though? By the time you’re done with the part time MBA program, the recession will be over
I think TRS fits my finance/accounting background well. I find it interesting too. The recession probably hasn’t started yet. Even though it ends after my MBA, a good/stable economy means that there are many other opportunities.
So many variables it’s impossible to put a number down. Plus interviews at Alix are challenging with multiple components
I don’t actually think AP has target schools. There are some schools we recruit at (like Texas) but that’s a function of who is on the recruiting team and where they went to school. AP believes heavily in the hiring process. If you went to Booth, graduated top of your class, and you bomb the assessments, you don’t have any advantage over someone that got a 3.5 at Michigan, Norte Dame, Texas, etc.
