I’ve worked with a number of coaches over the years. A few are transformational, create a huge step change in your life, and give you mechanisms to address areas for improvement that stick.
Most are incompetent and can’t handle the level of issues we deal with day to day.
Great impact, but only if you find the right one for you
How does one find the right one? Referrals? Also need someone like this in my life
I used a case coach early in my career. He worked at bcg and left to build a few start ups and was using this as supplemental income. He had amazing advice and was worth every penny. I paid around 2k and got a mini mba including a strong network. He introduced me to his network.
How did you find him?? Could you DM details?

Before you drop a bunch of money on what’s a hit and miss type of a situation, I would encourage you to leverage your mentors and/or use the time to develop the mentors at the firm you’re in. It’s free, you get relevant advice from people who understand not just the industry but inner workings of your firm and practice, and it helps you develop your network.
I worked with a former PwC TC Director who is now doing exec coaching after a few sessions with a generic executive coach.
It was a massive difference working with someone who understood where I was coming from.
Her name is Christine Eliseev. She's on LinkedIn.
Sort of a twist here, but... any interest in pursuing an MBA? Programs include these types of trainings, which are just one component of the grander learning opportunities they offer
Got it. Well, good on you! To further someone else’s mentioning of leveraging your existing network at your firm for your inquiry, perhaps reach out to your past programs’ career services center(s)? I’m assuming they are still available to you, and they are specifically focused/trained to assist on this exact topic
