What are CAD managers making now a days?
What is your definition of Tech?
PMP has a more traditional approach for Project Deliveries. If you are going towards Software Delivery I suggest SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
Why SAFe? Software is plug and play and easily reused unlike Construction Civil Projects. So you need to expect scope creep (as in PMP) in SAFe. They are new requirements or stories which need man hours, story board, estimation, continuous iterations etc.,
So Software Development is not just one time delivery (as like monolithic programs delivered a decade before).
Thanks for your input! I say Tech, but I am not predisposed to just Tech at the moment. It would be great to obtain a position in software delivery. Given the current climate of major Tech companies at the moment it does not seem to be as easy as it once was to get in as many are pulling back in the rapid expansion. As of now my interests range from IT to commercial real estate. Anything pertaining to equipment deployment and on-site operations is also an interest due to my experience. Is it important for me to specialize at this point? If I do decide to go towards software delivery, I assume after obtaining the PMP cert is there a SAFe cert I should obtain as well to better qualify?
If you're looking at project management or something near to Tech. A good option would be to look at the data center world. Lots of construction and data centers around the country, and lots of management opportunities and engineering opportunities
Thanks! I’ve noticed many PM opportunities pertaining to setting up data centers available in the past months. I’ll definitely look into qualifications.
Safe certification is a good recommendation as is agile scrum training.
I’d suggest reducing the number of line items on your resume - focus on 3-5 very impactful ones. Be sure to quantify the results as well as explain the business impact. Currently they are either a bit “fluffy” or else a little too in the weeds - no one outside the specific industry you are in understands what the project was about.
Page 2 of resume
This just feels like you took a bunch of corporate values that your company adhered to and wrote down points to each. Seems incredibly wordy and excessive. Imho, a resume should never be more than 1 page unless you bring like 15 years of hardcore experience that literally won’t fit on a page. Hopefully this helps as I am not trying to be critical, but just give my 2 cents. Good luck!
