Shouldn’t be true, they’re hiring you because there’s a level of confidence that there’s a strong pipeline of future work in the area you’re specialised in, beyond one initial project. If they’re hiring you just for a project, it would make more sense to subcontract.

like

Definitely not true. There's plenty of work for you to do after it finishes. Also that's bad for the brand to do that. They also hire contractors if it's short term

like

No, traditionally they have enough work to keep you staffed.

What you are saying can be true with smaller firms

like

Absolutely not true! Good luck making your decision.

HCL Technologies offer being delayed and recruiter keeps saying that there's a problem with their "Offer release portal system." I have already stated my issues with relocating until after I have the offer signed and ready. The project is supposed to start on the 19th and I'm supposed to join before, or on that date. It's already coming up soon and I don't have the official offer so that I can confidently start the relocation process. Has anyone else recently dealt with this?

Talking to a guy whose bumble profile says that he graduated out of Columbia in 2020 and he’s a product manager in tech. But on text he said, he’s looking to get into grad school. So I decided to stalk his LinkedIn. His LinkedIn says that he works as a project manager in non profit and his education says Columbia university - executive education. That’s not a degree right? I would’ve been ok to go see him but his entire bumble profile is a lie

I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.

Hey everyone, I am looking for advice. I am currently an associate at a big 4 firm doing IT Consulting with some IT audit sprinkled in. My end goal one day is to break into strategy. I have an offer to switch big 4 firms and move into FDD. Would this be a wise switch? Will I need an MBA regardless? I went to a large state school for undergrad. I don’t need to be in one of the top tier management consulting firms, I just know I would really enjoy the work in this field.

Just got the infamous HR meeting invite, anyone in New York hiring?

Need some advice here. Received an offer that comes with $20k stock option (given annually, no vesting). Was told to consider exit multiple of 5x, and value this comp as $20k x 5 = $100k. Assume no strike price:
Y1: $20k = $10 x 2000 stocks
Y2: $20k = $25 x 800 stocks
Y3: $20k = $50 x 400 stocks

This doesn't make sense right? Assume the startup reaches 5x in 3 years, only the first batch of stocks gains 5x multiple, while the Y2 only gains 2x, Y3 is 1x? The blended calculated is only 2.67x
