How to respond to the “why are you looking to switch careers?” Question. Have a background as a mfg engr but have an interview for a software QA position . I applied because the company culture and benefits are hard to beat. software QA was the closest position I qualify for.

Is there anything you would change about the career path you took in the industry?

Do you charge your time to BD or Project code for on boarding activities (e.g. calls, reviewing materials) ? Prior to getting to the client site.

My third week on a project and I just... know it’s not for me. I’m miserable, overwhelmed, and feel really destined for failure. This is a huge project with super high visibility and I just don’t want to do it. Seriously considering taking a leave of absence.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me.
