I am an analyst with close to 2 YOE. I’m interviewing for McKinsey for an analyst position in the strategy and corporate finance division. I just checked on Linkedin that my interviewer has close to 10 YOE in corporate finance and valuations and now I’m intimidated about the level of knowledge he has and what he might test me on. Any suggestions?

So I was offered a role in Strategy Consulting in after 2 years in Risk Consulting however, after 2 years I’ve only worked on Internal audit engagements few ad hocs such as updating risk register and the delegation of authority matrix.

Honestly speaking I am doing good and I am up for promotion in October however I am not fully enjoying my time but I fear that the move would not be a good and I can’t hit the ground running which scares me.

Any advice and past experiences in such career shit?

Just received an offer with expected / standard salary for role but no signing or relocation bonus. They know I don’t have any other offers which is why I assume they didn’t offer any signing bonus - do I have any chance of getting one without “leverage”?

Are there any Data Engineers here who could share how did they get into it? Because there are very less entry level Data Engineering positions. Most of them require experience of at least 2 years.

My team and I have been working over time a lot for more than 2 weeks now. I do not think that we only deserve OT pay after everything. I hate how my manager thinks that we will be fine soon, and I do not have to worry once the new hires get onboard. How about those hard work we did? I feel like the things we have done are undervalued. The amount of exhaustion and anxiety I have right now cannot be paid by such. Not to mention it ruined my body clock now too. Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

Let's say I can't get a product or marketing job in tech, but I could get in via sales or customer success. Does working in those roles pigeonhole you, or is it easy to switch later? If you take a job as a customer success mgr for ads, or as a partnership mgr for learning solutions for industry X, are you going to get stuck in those products (ads, learning solutions), roles (CS, sales/partnerships), or target industry (X)?
