I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in finance and I graduate next august. I have about two years professional experience in I.T working helpdesk as an analyst. I was trying to figure out the best route to take for my career. I would love to go into finance, wealth management, or asset management. I would even do financial analysis. Is it usually this hard to get looked at for internships? I am from Louisiana about an hour from New Orleans. Any possible companies or internships?

Just got an offer as a management consultant with a government procurement firm. Very disappointed in the offer, but ready to make the jump from public to private. Would this be a fair move to get into consulting? I also have a couple more interviews and and a referral to Deloitte. Insight would be appreciated!

Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? Should I get a CPA for Transaction Due Diligence?
I’m a new grad working in FDD and I’m trying to decide if becoming a CPA is worth it. I do not plan on staying in accounting in the future. I’m more interested in strategy work. I certainly do not want to do Audit. Would you recommend getting the CPA considering my career aspirations? Do you think it’s worth it? If not, what is the best way to use my time efficiently?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
