I am honestly scared about finishing my PhD right now. Everyone ahead of me is struggling to secure postdocs and faculty roles are scarce. I love research but the path looks unstable. How did you decide whether to stay in academia or pivot out?

How difficult is it to get an analyst job in current job market (no relevant prior experience) bcom grad

I’m interviewing with a startup and the range has a 40k difference from the lowest to highest point. It’s also pre-seed and comes with equity, and health, 401k benefits. It’s a director of sales role so I would eventually be recruiting and managing a team along with building the processes and strategy. What would you consider a fair compensation package? If they offer me something on the lower end of the range, is it still appropriate to counter with an offer that is over their stated range?

For what reasons are you doing IVF?

Can anyone give me their honest opinion on working at Eli Lilly, the Indy site? I have a few coworkers that have worked there in the past but no one recently. I’m currently being recruited pretty seriously for a in-vivo technician position in the auto-immune team, but I already have a job lined up at Envigo as a small animal sx tech. Salaries would be comparable (Lilly would most likely be a little more with bonuses), but if the culture sucks, I’d hate to burn a bridge with Envigo.

I've submitted my latest paper to the largest journal in my field, but it's taking forever for them to review it. I feel like they're just stalling me because they don't want to publish it. But if they don't publish it, then who will? And what happens if someone else finds out about my findings before they're published?
