I am joining cognizant Pune as senior associate - projects on 2nd Jan, 2023.
I am worried of these upcoming layoffs, recession.

I am curious to see the number of new Grant Thornton PPMD promotees for 2019 once they are made public, in light of all of the recent layoffs and office closure/s.

Recently found out from market research for my level in my industry that I'm VASTLY underpaid vs the market BUT employees at the same level in countries in Europe where our HQ is and where half my team live are even paid much less than me (converting to USD). So do I push for fair market compensation for US or will that make me first target for layoffs and look replaceable to higher ups than rest of my team so not worth the risk?
My advantage over others is close to clients and fluent English.

Recently laid off from a top 10 firm in LA after 7 years in PA. I’d been with the firm since college but now not sure whether i want to try and get back to PA or pivot to private or something else. Really trying to figure out my plan but feel so negative towards everything job-related. any suggestions where to begin? I need to find something I semi-enjoy since It’s unlikely I’ll marry a rich husband or win the lottery before my savings runs out.

Tired of this constant grind and constant layoff situation in NYC. Thinking of making the move to LA. Any thoughts? Yay or nay?

However the agency itself is not doing well- no new biz wins, big layoffs recently, terrible reviews on Glassdoor. I like my current agency enough, however, very much don’t like the 2 execs I assist. Hi All, I fell victim to the recent tech layoffs in July when our startup had its funding pulled mid-series B. I was let go without severance and am starting to panic because sending out resumes in this job market feels like screaming into the void. Do any of you have any hiring leads for mid/senior level marketing communications positions? I have not been on a project for over 3 months. Since I joined, I have been put in training. The training got extended by a month and now it's close to 4 months since I joined and without a project.

What should I do? People say that I'm lucky to get paid without doing any work, but it is stressing me out. I need the experience. The uncertainty is freaking me out, with rumours of layoffs and the certification program and all.
