To get started, , just practice interviewing and over time , you will learn to think like a product manager.
There's a lot of things to learn when you actually do the role but without having a role , just practicing for interviews will have you miles ahead of those already in the role.
For example, when asked "how would you improve LinkedIn", pay attention to what's the first thing that comes to your head. Do you jump straight into ideas, solutions - they may be brilliant ideas and solutions but the point of product management isn't to propose ideas, solutions - but to find problems worth solving. So, in this example - you want to work backwards in your head - why did I propose that idea - presumably becuase you ran into a problem personally and then, came up with a solution to solve that problem - so in your head , you already know the target user and the problem and are able to see a solution
I have a startup and could use a product manger. Do you have product expertise? Areas?
