Anyone else been told that for non-promotion years to expect an average of 5% raise and an average of 10% raise for promotion years? This is at a Top 25 Midwest accounting firm. Calculated my projected salary for the next 5 years and decided to find another firm. Much happier now 😊

I'm the hiring mgr for designers in my org. I recently discovered pay band information given to me by the HR generalist I'm working with on hiring was outdated and updated bands had been released over the summer (prior to my hire date). The outdated information had led me to believe a prime candidate was out of range. Aside from incompetence, can anyone think of a reason why HR might have withheld information about the pay bands? I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. I have 17,000 vested stock options, total number of shares at the time of my contract was 4million. In the last two year I’ve gotten more and more into alcohol free beer. The selection in my country (Europe) is still small and mainly driven by the big brands (e.g. Heineken).
