How junior is the role if you’re earning more money? Will you have a better chance to affect work, working on bigger things, larger team etc? Are you going from a smaller agency to a bigger agency? Sometimes a temporary title setback can be worth it. I knew a guy who went from being a CD at an agency to a “senior creative” at a cooler one—he’s now the cco of that agency and winning awards up the wazoo.
Don’t let a title hold you back from making more money and working on better stuff, though you should SEE if there’s any way to split the difference between that senior role and this “more junior” role, but big agencies usually have a pretty strict title rubric while often at smaller agencies you can have an inflated title.
Can you ask them to drop the "junior"?
I didn't know you can negotiate a job title! I might give this a try.
Especially if there is no “up” from your current role in your company. Go to where there is room to stretch.
I would take the junior role especially if its more money than what you're already making. We're in an employers market with lots of people competing for a small number of graphic designer jobs. You're lucky to get an offer at all.
Is the increase in salary large enough to offset the cost of the commute? (Literally and the cost of your time commuting.) If so, ask if they can change the title to just Graphic Designer or something similar.
