I asked for a promotion and raise. It was well received, but I was asked to reconsider the job title, and layout a 3 year guideline of what future raises look like so I am held to them as a general rule. I started with a below market salary, then got a 18% raise after 6 months, then got a 15% last April.

My promotion will come with a 53% raise, more job duties, acknowledgment of senior status.

I’m unsure of the 3-year expectation of salary increases. 3-5% per year w/o promotion?

Considering a jump from Chicago to New York. I truly love living in Chicago and how far this salary gets me but I definitely want to try to make it in New York.

The only problem is my significant other has a lot of negative opinions about New York. I ultimately want to return to DC but I feel like a few good years in New York would be really good for me.
