I worked my ass off to get where I am. Hard, but loved every minute of it. I was asked if I wanted to be an EP, and I turned it down. I want to be out there producing, not sitting in an office every day managing. I want to produce! So, it’s up to you. I would look elsewhere and elevate your situation. You have earned it.
I was promoted from
Senior producer without being asked and wish I hadn’t been. I was fine with what I was paid and had a good life balance. Now my workload and stress has increased. Not worth it to me.
It’s slightly less about the title for me, and more about the compensation for me. My organization is getting executive level work from me, and I’m still at a senior producer pay rate. I would like the pay that goes along with my level of responsibility and expectations.
Same situation and agree title is less worth to me than compensation.
Your body will eventually tell you when it’s time. But it’s really hard to find to maintain the balance. I have managed to reduce my hours from 55 to 75 to more manageable 40 to 55. But that requires a reminder every day about what my priorities are. I usually do one really big day a week, when I’m feeling focused and up for it. Then the rest of the days I try to keep between 8 1/2 and 10 1/2 hours. It’s helped a lot!
