I genuinely believe that the billable hour model is on its way out and once millennials and Gen z are filling most leadership roles in PE and Corporate roles they will dive into the ridiculous premiums certain firms charge for identical services disguised in “brand recognition”. What are you thoughts on the path forward? I know myself as a millennial, and Ivy League grad if I was ever in an executive role it would be irresponsible to hire tier 1 for most projects.

I feel like this is a humble brag to say you went to the Ivy League.

OP - I would say you are naive. You are only thinking about the analytical work and not seeing the politics / optics of why Tier 1 firms get hired.

Imagine thinking Millennials and GenZ aren’t political… some of you folks are petty AF.

I hear you but sadly you will be disappointed. By the time you become a sr ex your mind set will change.

Consulting corrupts even the most innocent.

like

There is a million reasons to hire consultants OP has experienced a few and drawn a conclusion from that.

I think you are missing the CYA portion of consulting. As a CEO/board if I take recommendation from my employee then it's our fault. If we hire and get recommendation from consultants and it doesn't work out than we were lied to by the consultants and it's their fault

4 years. I’m just going off what I’ve seen. The fees we charge clients are becoming increasingly more difficult to justify.

Tech’s already addressed this to a significant extent

like

Amazon will use their own corp dev group but there are times I would have just preferred to spend 200k on a deck from a competitive intelligence firm, because my teams time would have been better spent planning the integration.

In all though, we don’t need strategy or tech consultants because our in house talent is generally better and more capable for the reasons listed above.

like

I have wondered why my clients pay for consulting services as well when there are plenty of people who are capable of doing the same job as full time employees. We usually cost much more than a FTE, where is the benefit? Just hire the talent and save money.

like

If your business is undergoing a major transformation it doesn’t make sense to hire FTE to help with that on a short term basis

Which firm are you at? OW?

OK. I'm on the other side and it's still the easiest way to get a board off your back. I doubt that's going to change as MBB will still dominate the csuite and board room.

It is in appropriate to ask what the compensation for a position is after a first interview if they want you to go on three more and the interviewers on my first told me that was above their pay grade to tell me?????

Seems kind of ridiculous for a business to want to waste so much time to find out after a handful of interviews that the pay isnt aligned with my needs ......

I can see in biglaw not bringing up knowing damn well if you get an offer itll likely be high, but this is a midsize

Hi everyone, how much does Sprinklr pay to implementation consultants or rather how much salary should I ask for? For the position of implementation consultant/senior implementation consultant, with an experience of around 3/4yrs?

Working as CAL Manager with Accenture S&C India. Offered ~GBP 76.5K (fixed plus flexi) at Manager Grade by Deloitte London.

Prior to Accenture, I have already served as S&O Manager with Deloitte India for ~1.5 yrs - so this would be my second stint with Deloitte as Manager "again".

2 questions:
1. Should I ask for Senior Mgr (AD) grade - to which they have already said NO
2. Is GBP 76.5K sitting at the lower end of M grade in Deloitte UK? What should be a good expectation for the role

How realistic is it to go from no computer science degree, to getting Salesforce certs and an admin role?

Hello, folks! I wonder if you have any advice/info for a person who is looking for an "investment associate" role in Dubai. I have a financial audit background (4 years Big-4), 1,5 year in deal advisory (half year financial due diligence department, 1 year valuation department). I have experience in TMT, retail, Energy and Utility and other industries. Currently I'm living in Eastern Europe.
What is considered to be normal in relation to WBL, compensations in Dubai for such role or similar?

Currently an associate at a V30 and negotiating a partnership position at another V30. What is the correct way to maximize the pay in the negotiation as a lateral partner? I’m afraid of settling at a lower price than what they can do at the top end of the range! Do I anchor by asking for an outrageous figure or let them offer a salary figure first?
