Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

They won’t.
It’s not your book it’s you. Boom there I said it.
Sharpen your interview skills get better at communicating all you want to say about yourself in 15 min. You will have to write things like emails or cover letters (horrific I know) to make yourself standout because honey there are about a thousand of you out there looking for same job.
Also - what jobs are you looking for ? What is your salary? Remember companies are looking for discounts so even if you have killer work they might be hiring the cheaper person with the okay book.

Great tips!
Jobs are scarce and there are lots of people with good books :( hang in there! You will find something eventually and you will be so pumped about it you will be glad everything else didn’t work out so it could lead you there.
It's probably not your book then. Getting hired is only partly your book. It's also you. You're a writer, do your cover letters show your personality? Your passions? Do you have a good sense of humor? If so, show it. Are you creating a new cover letter for each application based on the company? How much research are you doing about their culture, history, work?
I don’t know, even the so-called creative shops in applying to ask for a cover letter.

Post the book, show us the goods
Did you not like the answers you got when you asked this same question a few days ago?
The answer btw is much simpler than you think it is: there are fewer entry level jobs than there are people whose books have been called “good” by someone.
