The culture shift these last 3 years have the company completely unrecognizable. I’d use it to get yourself a raise and avoid RSM at all costs.
Manager here, consulting side, working ~50 hours most weeks. I probably take more PTO than most but around 4-5 weeks a year of self managed time off.
Not sure what line of business but I'm a Sr Mgr in audit, total hours is 2400 (includes non charge and charge), chargeable is 1600, I'm usually right at that and I usually take about 6 weeks of pto not including the holidays they give us (the normal holidays and normally the whole Christmas week)
The 6 weeks pto and holiday time counts as part of the 2400 total hours fyi
I would agree with the comment about depends on the office, but I can say that the leadership of the firm needs to change or they will run this firm into the ground.
I think all the charge hour goals are pretty much the same throughout regardless of the office
A lot and not more than 3 weeks PTO
I don’t agree with this. I take about 25 days a year and no one says shit
I think a lot of these questions are very dependent on which office and business line you're in. And then within that business line, what team(s) you're placed on. I know that's not very helpful but is there anyone from the office you were placed in who you could talk to?
On the anything else to consider I think its office specific, some locations are amazing to work at, some are average, and some are terrible - personally I love my office but I've seen others that are a bit downtrodden
What line of business?
What lob and office? PTO is self managed and people in my group take between 4-6 weeks on top of the 13-14 holidays. Billable goal for my lob is 1350 but most don’t hit that. The parental leave is 12 weeks. I like the firm overall.
80 hours 7 days a week. That just sounds like someone that doesn't know what they are doing. I don't know any senior managers or managers working those type of hours at EY.
