I got interviews with three T2 strategy firms. I am waiting for a referral to go through from a fourth. This is probably the dumbest question ever, but… how much is enough? The process of looking for firms, contacting people and pitching myself to get a referral is beginning to get draining (I have no contacts, so I am literally cold calling dozens daily), and it takes away time from my case prep. I assume that out of 4 firms, with good case prep, at least one will give me an offer… right?

Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? I had a panel interview two weeks ago. I sent the recruiter a status check email last Friday and haven't heard back. I'm really interested in this company and still see the role posted on their site. Just got a lateral hire offer for a Sr Associate role with BCG. Contract states that I can go for Consultant promo in 12 months. I'm interpreting this as, if I don't make the promo threshold in 12 months, I'd be counseled out. Is this a reasonable assumption? Or would I get a few more months of time to work on feedback?
