I had an editor completely rewrite my intro today. At first I felt crushed, but then I saw how much sharper it was. Do you take heavy edits personally, or treat them as a free masterclass?

I took them personally early on, because I felt like I constantly had something to prove. It took me a little while to recognize that we are all on the same team, and learning from people more experienced than me is the best thing I could do for my career.

I relate to that. Early on, every red mark felt like a personal attack. Now I see the value in learning from experienced editors. It is tough in the moment, but it does make the work stronger.

Depends. Some editors seem to get very petty and go on a power hungry trip. If it's fair, I try to take it as a learning experience and ensure I never make that mistakr again

Yes, I know that feeling too. Some edits feel more about control than improvement. When it is constructive, it is a gift. When it is petty, I just take what I need and leave the rest.

Honestly, I do not see edits as a “masterclass.” If an editor rewrites that heavily, it means they did not trust your judgement. I think you should push back more, not just accept it as learning.

I think you can take a bit of both from it, its not personal it’s just a different style that you can take bits from

I posted about it on my Instagram HerMillennialMoney if you want to learn my tips and tricks with the care.

Hi all, I’m looking to learn about how one can transition from PwC AC to PwC India.
I joined PwC AC Bangalore as a fresher and have been working here for 13 months.
I was randomly assigned to SAP, but I’ve realised I really want to move away from this and move towards what I originally planned on pursuing i.e. data analysis, I was already well versed in ML and DL with python.
If anyone has made a similar transition, it would be great if you could help me understand how do I go about this.

There’s been some posts on the best planning tools (e.g. planners, calendars, etc.), but my question is how do ppl make sure they use them? I get them and am excited about the possibility of them helping for about a week then I just stop using it. Even if I find it helpful I just never stay consistent with it. Does this happen to others? Any tricks or suggestions to stay consistent using planners, to do lists, calendars, etc.
