If you call each company, you can probably transfer each to a $0 annual fee card and keep the credit history. I can’t remember the dept name, but it’s like their customer retention group.

Yup. Ask if they have a $0 fee card that is still points oriented and not cashback oriented. Often this will drastically reduce your redemption value, but better than nothing.
Sheesh. How are you even breaking even on those fees?

Intro offers got me 100k points on each card. I travel a lot too, so the $300 travel credit and lounge access from the venture x more than makes up for that fee. Chase has a $50 hotel credit as well which cuts the $95 in half, and I got a promotional $50 fee for the first year for amex
Switch your Sapphire to the Freedom Unlimited, they’ll transfer your points and there’s no annual fee.
But the points are less value if OP downgrades?

Dump the venturex, get a hotel card for whatever one you stay at.
Have gotten great value out of Amex Hilton aspire. Marriott equivalent should be similar.
I actually talked to somebody at Chase about this. You can just downgrade your Chase card to a card that doesn’t have any fees. You can probably do it for AMEX gold. I just got the AMEX blue card because I didn’t wanna pay any fees.
I could be wrong about this so double-check, but: I think since you have the Delta Amex and not a Membership Rewards-earning card, your rewards are SkyMiles and they’re transferred monthly into your SkyMiles account. They don’t “live” with Amex. So, you may not need to open another card with them at all. However, if you call to close the account and say you’re having trouble making the fee work this year, they may offer you a retention bonus/reduced fee.

Thanks! Makes sense. Will double check when I call
Lol OP. You jiggle more credit cards and fees than I do. And I just sold my business and pocketed 8 figures.
You’re not doing this correctly 🤣
SP1 gave good advice IMO. He said he spends less in credit card fees despite his 8-figure business. And also, please stop getting offended about everything people say. We got it, you are liberal. Good for you. Don’t worry about Musk buying Facebook (Meta) because nobody uses it anymore anyway.
Venture x is $395

I have the Captial One Venture X card too, and I have called the customer hotline for the retention offer, but they didn't have anything.
