I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

You might have to look for out of state. Unless you can find a small company, there's not a lot of accounting jobs in NV. Internships while doing a MAcc program would give you a better chance.
Are you planning on sitting for CPA?
Yes, but I do not have the 150 credits yet required in the state I live in. (Nevada)
DM me - do you have any internships under your belt? Intent to get your CPA?
I haven’t been able to get an internship. Yes, but I still need to complete the 150 credits to sit for the exam. I’m in the enrollment process for a masters in accounting at the moment.
Are you at 150 college credits ? If no and not willing / able to get there look into fund accounting , staff accounting , even admin assistant to get your foot in the door 🚪
If you are at 150 college credit hours, try low tier public accounting firms or be open to an internship.
Honestly if I had to do it again I’d get an internship at the big four while working on my ms in business analytics
Business analytics, data, tech it’s the new shiny toy everyone wants. I did my ms in tax - yea job stability in tax but idk tax seasons are tough.
Keep applying to internships then, keep networking with everyone - your peers, teachers, professional organizations.
No, I haven’t been able to get an internship. I’ve applied to many, but I never got an interview.
You know what I was extremely fortunate to have a former classmate a few years ahead of me refer me to a role/ solid company.
I think most people just go through a solid feeder program for an example
UIUC is a major pipeline to deloitte
DU is a major pipeline to EY
DePaul University is a major pipeline to accounting firms
From the sounds of it you need to get on a conveyor belt
I have a relative in the accounting field. I was going to work with them because at the time they frequently got recent graduates with no experience. But ever since a bigger company acquired it, they changed the experience requirements to 1+ years of experience required.
What geography are you in?
