I have a Bachelors in Computer Science and a Masters in UX and have over 3 years of experience. Been looking for a role for the past 8 months with no success.

I am thinking of making a switch to cybersecurity. Is it a good idea? I can’t go back to uni for a 3 year degree, can do short courses so what pathway should I take if I want to fully transition to being a cybersecurity professional?

I interviewed for KPMG on 11/15 for a Senior role and the HR emailed me on 11/16 that everyone liked me but they think I should be hired as an Experienced Associate. I had a call with the HR on 11/17 wherein we discussed about my salary expectations and the HR said he will get back in a day. It’s been more than 10 days and multiple follow ups but still no response. I don’t think I was rude while talking to the HR, I just told my current salary and asked for min. that no. Did i miss the chance ?

Anyone else frustrated with the lack of follow through from potential employers? I have had two companies undercut my ability to have an equal chance to compete for a role. One company kept telling me a second interview would happen in a few weeks. Nothing for 3 months even with my check ins. To just find out the role was filled. Another company flat out said they couldn’t find my application (in their system where it was attached to job req number) and filled the role.
