I have a flight from Chicago to DCA with a layover in Philly. Would the airline do something I didn’t take the flight from philly to Dca? Something came up last minute

Why are you connecting from CHI to DCA? Do you need segments?

like

Yeah originally, I did it for segments.

I don’t think they would care if you stayed in Philly. You probably wouldn’t get the segment from Philly to DCA. Maybe if you call and get a nice agent they might work something out if the flight was more expensive...doubtful though.

I’m flying back home from client site. My girlfriend lives closer to Philly airport (1.5 hour drive) compared to DCA (3 hours)

They might think you booked a hidden city fare which can get you blacklisted. I’d call the airline and get that segment cancelled without any refunds etc so they don’t think you did it intentionally

They wouldn’t do this after one time

like

I do it all the time. Nobody cares.

If it’s a round trip, the rest of the segments are likely to be canceled

One or twice it’s fine. Biggest risk is that they insist on checking your bag and will only check it to your final tickets destination. I’d advise against doing it super frequently since hidden city ticketing is prohibited under the contract of carriage. And as BCG1 said, any remaining sectors on the ticket will be canceled

Just over 6 years in B4 financial services tax in PNW area. Mostly doing compliance work pumping out K1s and returns. Just got an industry offer at 155k 15% bonus and 100k equity (4year vesting). Fully remote position with occasional travel. Should I accept? I know it's a long shot but deep down I always had an ambition to pursue PA to see if I can make a partner. M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
