I have some doubt regarding pf contribution... Say for example.. 12% of my base salary is 600 which gets deducted from my salary.. on the flip side.. the company has to contribute 600 to my pf (which is actually deducted from my salary only like already part of CTC)?. So my question again is that.. the company contributes 600 as well? PwC

Quit social stalking him - this will be really problematic if trouble starts brewing. Your main threat here is getting a discrimination claim filed against you/the company if you treat him differently because of protected beliefs, here religion. You’re going to have to put this out of your mind - just as you’d expect your own supervisor to act if the role was reversed and you were working for a bigot. And especially for someone with his views, you may be the only or closest window into the LGBT community he has. People come into our lives for a reason. Try not to sabotage his time at your work, nor yours, by letting this knowledge direct your interactions with him. I just assume at work there’s a 50-50 chance someone secretly despises me for being gay. It’s the nature of the world for now. Makes no difference if I actually know it or not.
Gave off a vibe… well that’s problematic that you are judging them based on a vibe. His personal life is not of your concern, how about being more professional?
It’s problematic because OP is the boss, so they should focus on the work being delivered by the new guy and how the new guy interacts with other employees.
Hateful how? Context matters.
Is it that he doesn’t believe in gay marriage because of his religious beliefs? Or that he believes trans women shouldn’t compete against cis women in combat sports?
Or the more extreme kind that gay people should be forcefully converted?
Broski just do your job and judge him on his job. Unless he calls you a slur or something crazy, he has the right to believe in whatever he wants

Following company policies, values and code of conduct is the only thing that matters. Every employee is not going to be gay-friendly.
No,it's not fair to treat him/her differently because they're homophobic. Neither is it fair to give special treatment to our LGBTQ community. I know you already know this, but all fam ain't good fam. Sometimes, the straightest people turn out to be really good employees and expect nothing along the lines of special treatment. Sometimes, you shake your head at our BS and theirs. I will say it is challenging to work with homophobes, racist or sexist people. Don't let them all start some BS on the same day.
I would be selfish and think about how he can further your professional objectives as the focus. How good of a direct report is he; how can he further your work goals etc.
Quietly leave the company policy on his desk with a note reminding him that this also applies outside the office
Don’t single him out one on one thus way, without bringing in HR and Legal. Don’t get in over your head. Safer would be hit on this topic in a staff meeting when annual ethics training is covered.
