Like the Notorious BIG says, “don’t be mad, UPS is hiring”
I live in Puerto Rico. I’m not going to work at UPS for $8.00 an hour.🤣
I know how frustrating that must be but are you thoughtfully applying for any of these, or are you just firing off resumes at this point? By thoughtfully, I mean things like reaching out to recruiters or people in your network, writing cover letters, ensuring your resume is tailored to the positions you are applying for.
Also, I know a lot of agencies are open to full remote for the most part but not always at entry/junior level account service; that’s how my agency is. Once you’ve proven yourself and gotten more experience, full remote is more a possibility, so you might need to think about relocation too.
Keep at it. Getting that first role is frustrating for sure. Have you had someone look over your resume to make sure it's in line with industry standards?
Yes! I’ve had a few revamps and I put skills that employers are looking for!
Feel free to DM me. I’d be happy to look at your resume and provide some tips.
Thank you!
Have you tried reaching out to people on LinkedIn in companies you’re interested in?
DM me I can help get you a referral
Use the referral part of this app, I’m sure someone would love to help. Also, network if you haven’t been already. Keep at it, you might be closer than you think to your next big opportunity. What’s your major and what field are you trying to get into?
At the bottom when you leave this thread… you’ll see “Bowls” and in there you’ll see “job referrals.” Hit that and post something along the lines of where you live (cause it’s important considering you’re in PR). And what your major is and year of experience.
BUTTTT before doing that, to make a good impression. Line up specific companies keep the list short like 3-5 and look up their website and see if you find something that you like pick 1-2 jobs per company, no more; otherwise they’ll feel like you’re all over the place and people/companies hate that.
Then, just ask on the “job referral” part of this app “hi I’m currently in PR and have a business degree with X years of experience. Would anybody be willing to give me a referral to these companies. I’ve found specific roles available on their website and would like to apply.”
Just an idea but you can phrase it however you’d like. Goodluck and keep applying for jobs through LinkedIn and so on. I’m sure It’ll work out.
Feel free to DM me as well, I'm happy to provide another resume review and share some tactics that worked for me.
