I live in AZ so this is my Chilis experience. GM’s have typically worked for chilis for at least 15 years. In this market the GMs are terrible, stores are old and dirty, and they are SET in their chilis way/speak. On the good side - they have a system (if your GM uses them) for everything. No food is wasted and you will be a WORKING manager. This is not an office job.
Raising Canes - never worked there but it looks very clean, staff is always upbeat and courteous.
Full service vs quick service. My vote - Canes, chilis was just too much drama and favoritism.
Hard to say without knowing the differences in what they're offering! Are they both full time roles? And what are the salaries/benefits for each position? Are the job requirement similar?
Also, Canes is open till 2am. Chilis 12am.
Chief
Depends if the pay is double then that’s the obvious choice. If it’s around the same pay then take the job with least hours.
I would say to be weary of both, depending on the market I’d say choose Raising Cane’s, BUT that all depends on your area leadership
I have worked for both Chili's and for Raising Cane's! I honestly regret leaving Rasing Cane's. The culture at Cane's is really great, they recognize people a lot! Cane's is closed 8 major Holidays a year. What other Restaurant can say that??? NONE! PICK CANE'S FOR SURE!
Hey! I was a Kitchen manager at longhorn steakhouse for a long time and wanted to make a switch to become a GM so I gave raising canes a shot. Loved the interview decided to take the roll of the ARL assistant restaurant leader spot and they sent me to Dallas Texas for 3 months, Great place to train. Everything went fine and came back to Richmond Virginia and it was totally different vibe, you worked more then 50 plus hour work weeks, always on call, had to work more hours from your house, was even told by the regional manager that your salary we own you. The vibe looks and seems cool but stay away if you want to have some home life.
Which one is the better offer/ I would probably take the role that pays more or has better benefits. Also if you are ready to be a manager then I wouldn't take an assistant manager role.
Definitely canes!
