I have credit cards with Chase, Discover, Bank of America, American Express, and Citi. Any major players I'm missing? Still growing my credit so seeking to diversify

I don't see how diversity in branding is supposed to help your credit

Diversify debt? That’s new

like

EY1, that's not universally true... but, I don't see the point in what OP is doing either. Credit cards aren't Pokémon.

like

OP, please explain your goal here. Improve credit score? Obtain maximum total line amount?

like

Opening a zillion cards actually negatively impacts credit score.

like

Lenders will evaluate your types of debt, but credit cards all fall in one category, independent of bank. Don’t take on a loan just to diversify that debt. that would, of course, be silly and ass backwards for improving your credit score.

That's a *different* kind of diversified portfolio. Not usually one people aim for.

D2, there is almost zero point in what OP is doing. I'd recommend an AMEX, a VISA (and maybe a Mastercard). Research the cards, get the right one for your particular spending patterns and needs, and have a plan on when and why to use each one. In particular, I like AMEX for high dollar purchases (especially electronics) for the warranties they provide as benefits through the card (on certain cards). I like VISA for travel abroad. My cards don't overlap in benefits (much), so I know if I'm spending on travel and dining I use card A, if I'm spending on something else, I use card B, etc. - but unlike OP, I don't have 5+ credit cards. I also usually will not apply for a card if it doesn't offer zero foreign transaction fees.

Also, on a note that addresses a comment above, I saw an article saying that The Points Guy has 30+ credit card and an 800+ credit score. So, like I mentioned above, a ton of cards won't kill your credit score, but that also sounds like account management HELL.

I don't see the "so what" here...

Capital one

Credit card newb here but is there any advantage to this strategy? Thought it’d be best to have one main card and a backup if someone doesn’t take the main card (I.e amex and chase)

Capital one

Keep shopping for cards but don’t use them. I have 800+ as well and that’s my strategy

I guess you're increasing your credit limit and suppressing that credit util %, but even then collecting cards like Pokémon doesn't seem like a great strategy
