I have my first CPA exam scheduled for sept 30th (FAR). I work full time and have limited study time. Is there anything I could listen to, such as a podcast that could legitimately help prepare me while I work long hours? I know nothing can replace study time but I just want to maximize all the time I could possibly be using to help prepare me.

Thanks!

What study materials are you using? Do they have lectures you can listen to? There are also a lot of YouTube channels that cover CPA materials. Just type CPA in search. I haven’t really found podcasts that talk about the exam materials, more so I have only heard them speak on their study process and journey.

I used audio notes from SuperfastCPA l, really helped listening to the topics over and over. Otherwise for free there are good lectures on YouTube if you search by subject

like

Listening to the lectures is good. Also be sure to practice everything that involves a calculation. FAR has a ton of those and most are MCQs

New York folks:
Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

California peeps. I have a feeling I failed FAR, which is my last exam, but my score isn’t released until May 11. Can I submit the reapplication with the CA Board of Accountancy to speed up the retake and NTS process in case I failed? Or do I need to get my exam score first? I need to pass by mid June, else my REG score expires, hence the rush to resubmit the re-application.
