I have started a career in sales at the young age of 58. I have never sold cars and am very green. However, I have made 5 sales on my own and 1 sale that was split.
My question is not about selling it's about dress. It is 105° today and forecast to like this for a while. We dress casual, if your in the same field can you wear shorts? I have nice casual shorts. I can look professional in shorts. But I'm curious if it's okay at other dealerships. Thanks.

Good god no. Do not wear shorts!

like

I would wear khaki pants and a golf shirts, and stay hydrated.

Never wear shorts, there's no way to make them look professional. I've been in auto sales / management since 1997, it's in the 100's here as well - I just wear the lightest dress pants I can find along with a breathable polo shirt. Light shoes with decent ventilation help you stay cool as well. Take advantage of the bottled water at the dealership and get yourself some packs of liquid IV or similar, the less hydrated you are the hotter you'll feel. For reference, I'm 50 years old myself.

I’m relocating to London and would love to hear recommendations on neighborhoods. I am looking for an “urban village” feel (small coffee shops, not very touristy, can walk a dog and stroller) with a budget of 3K for a 1-2 bdr. My commute would be into Soho. I am currently looking at Notting Hill, Chelsea, and St John Woods, but I won’t be able to visit before my move. Any neighborhood recs?

Has anyone here had to give a 90 day plan in an interview? I’m on round 5 now for a field role, and I was informed this will be what the final interview consists of. Panel of 5-6 supposedly. Hey friends. Recently joined a startup with a heavy reliance on outbound sales strategy. Without a phone number... what are some of your best ways to get meetings booked with prospects?

Our product sells itself, but how do you set yourself apart to get the initial meeting booked?
What mediums do you use with cold outreach that you find most effective?
What copy have you found gets the best ppen/reply rate?

I am not a sales PRO, but I'm also not a newbie. Really just looking for a think-tank.

I saw some sales managers discussing hiring strategies, especially for entry level roles (e.g. SDR, BDR).

One strategy that came up was having the applicant do 90 minutes of cold calling into real prospects with the hiring manager coaching.

What do you think of this approach? Would be curious to hear from both hiring manager perspectives and from candidate perspectives.

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive. From that conversation, I saw instant red flags. Any thoughts?

The base salary is ok but I haven’t received any commission structure up to this day.
I book an average of 3-5 demos per week. People always show up, but the thing that worries me is that I do not have a way to track how many meetings I book in our CRM,and to be honest I feel like I didn’t get the best training overall. Should I start looking somewhere else? Thoughts?

Thanks
