I haven’t been on the job hunt in years and have two questions for you all this morning.
1. Cover letters - they seem so antiquated to me. Are they necessary? Does it look bad if I don’t apply with one. I believe my resume is quite concise and has a profile summary 2. “Desired pay” - I want to put something like “negotiable depending on total comp package” but will that rule me out? I hate the numbers game

I got good internal hike last year like 30% but it's not upto market standard, can I ask for hike again this year amidst this recession times? I know they are recruiting new ppl with much more salary than me. Any suggestions hiw do i start the conversation

Been with my current company 5 years now. I run my own team but have a micromanaging boss who likes to create chaos for me. I accepted an offer a week ago with a great company (Company A) that for this season in my life seems like a great fit and only strengthens what I have to offer company B down the road. Company B just sent me a request for interview and I want to keep the door open with Company B but they were just very late in extending an interview.
