I think I’ve answered my own question: time to suck it up and start looking at what else is out there. Appreciate the insights, ACDs
Counter offer? Of course, that means you have to be willing to leave. Or move? Have you spoken with anyone about it?
Same as above ^ Always a counter offer... but you have to be willing to pull the trigger and jump if they don’t counter
That’s not your trademark, that’s the trademark of the whole industry. It’s not your fault it’s that way, but it is. The only way to get paid your worth is to jump ship every few years, until you get to VP-level.
Have you tried outlining the value you have provided in your role, and asking for one? That can work surprisingly well.
Yeah I wouldn’t want to make that my trademark either. Sounds a tad toxic having to remind people of your value non stop
Is the company financially ok? Sometimes it's a matter of squeezing blood from a stone. Not that it makes your stay/go decision much different, but lack of raises doesn't always reflect directly on you.
I feel your pain. I was told no raise or opportunity to even try to until we get new business but keep doing amazing work and more of it. 😑
I do much more than that, but don’t want to post my full title. I’ve requested a title change that’s more in line with the actual job I do - because you’re right, it complicates my job search as it sounds low-level.
I regularly outline the value of my role with lots of data points; it’s mostly so they don’t cut me entirely.
And, a counteroffer was how I got the last raise. 😑 Not looking to make this my trademark negotiating strategy.
That sucks. Definitely try to get other interviews. The problem I see however, is a "content creator" (as far as I know anyway) is a pretty low level social job, and I dont know if there's such a thing as a "senior content creator" to get bumped up to.
^ that’s a “low level” response, bbdo
