Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.
Can I get likes to unlock the DMs please 🙏

90+ hrs a week is insane.
65-70 means you have majority of your weekends! I’d love to have that, i’m regularly at 85-90. But tbh idk if i’d do this job at 55-60hrs (assuming pay declines proportionately)
A1- the job is intellectually stimulating. I’m not just a processor of data. I have to think about the deal issues and positioning, drive project management, continuously learn new developments about the industry, among others. But all that stimulation gets crushed as a result of the toxicity and unreasonable expectations. That makes this job bullshit (for me). That said, I recognize this works for some people. I’m starting to recognize it is not for me. And I have to put my health, marriage, life > IB.
There are other ways to make a decent living.
Nothing is worth 90+ hours ever. They would dump you in a heartbeat if they needed/wanted to, you can’t ever forget that.
i agree.
What about the work is interesting to you? Im genuinely curious
your mental health is more impt. start looking around or just quit. listen to yourself.
In IB/M&A?
Feeling the same thing. Giving my two weeks this week and on to better things. Even with a pay-cut, having agency over my non-working hours is just more important to me at this point.
Also did not do strat and ops before banking, started out in M&A.
What was the final straw for you? I want to quit but I’m too scared to. Need some encouragements.
Just do it! Swish
Do you think it would be worth it under a different MD?
Agreed but a bad md with bad client management can lead to additional unnecessary hours.
