Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

Their goal is to have you go more eventually, start with one.
I politely disagree. The one day may be designated as the day everyone from your team goes in and serves as a day of idea sharing. Culturally, having that one day in the office can be a big boost and facilitate a lot of conversations you wouldn’t normally have through a Zoom call. It can also serve as a bonding mechanism. Having a company build or maintain a positive culture is really difficult having a workforce that is 100% remote, so the 1 day in the office is a way of meeting employee wants and employer needs half way. My firm has instituted where most employees should to be in the office 3 days a week with the expectation being that most everyone is in Tuesday through Thursday. No one is sitting there doing attendance so it’s not like it is strictly enforced. I believe the in person interaction has been really beneficial to us and helps build trust. Just my two cents.
I'm gonna second this. I think going in one day a week is a good thing. Its really important for morale in my opinion.
What firm? Honestly that sounds ideal.
