I just started looking for a new job. The first place that I interviewed for seems to want to hire me, but I'm not certain that it's what I want. I don't want to commit without looking around, but am also nervous to pass on an offer. I've already had first and second round interviews and now they want to chat about how I'm feeling about the role. But I'm also waiting to hear back on another interview where the position sounded more like what I'm looking for. How should I respond?

Tax Manager - what type of stuff can I exit to? I mostly has flow through entity experience and no income tax provision experience at a Top 15 firm. Been here 8 years and am a little nervous to even consider non public accounting because it’s all I know, but I want a less stressful work/life balance. Also I feel I’m overpaid and am afraid I’ll have to take a pay cut.

I've decided to leave public for an Accounting Manager position in private. What are the different types of companies to consider and the pros/cons? What are the best ways to get the position? I'm leaning toward GL accounting at a publicly-traded company. My background is 3.5 years audit and 2.5 years technical accounting advisory.

Accounting advisory big4 or IA at F100. Both senior roles. Roughly same base pay.

Big4 has clear trajectory and interesting work.

F100 has 14% bonus, perm remote, and immediate vesting 401k over 7%.

What would you take?
