I just started my terminal leave and am on boarding with my new company. I’ve already committed to joining the SELRES and plan on using Tricare reserve select. Is there any benefit to keeping my employers insurance? It feels weird declining coverage since I get a warning email everyday about the enrollment window.

I deny medical through my employer every year. However, I do opt for the dental and eye coverage as it's pretty cheap for me and leaves me with zero out of pocket.

like

Are use the Tricare vision every other year for my eye examination and use the companies VSP coverage on those off years to cover the vision coverage. I get dental every year through my employer because I’m covered with Tricare medically.

A lot of people don’t like dealing with Tricare so they choose to go with the employer plan but it sounds like you’ve already decided.

The other benefit of keeping the employer plan is to have additional secondary coverage. Your employer insurance would be primary and TRS secondary which means they’d pay things your employer doesn’t cover which will reduce your out of pocket on copays and deductibles.

TRS is pretty comprehensive so unless your employer insurance is very cheap or more generous than TRS there’s not much benefit in keeping the employer plan.

Sweaty post-workout question. If I finish a bike or run in the heat I am usually just pouring sweat for the next 15 or so mins. So I've gotten into the habit of just putting a towel or yoga mat down on the floor and laying/stretching until I am not going to throw sweat everywhere or step in to the shower and step out still sweating. Is there a better version of this maybe for recovery or even just not wasting time waiting?

I think that I have eating disorder. I am always hungry but when I get food I can’t finish it, usually I am done after 2-3 bites and then I am hungry again after an hour. Anyone has similar issues? Have you been to a nutritionist or dietitian? If yes, is it covered by Insurance?

Hello,

I hope someone here can help me 🫶🏽. I graduated from Rutgers Business School with a double major in Supply Chain Management and Marketing, 2021. I am currently an Area Operations Manager at Amazon ( 7 months in the role). However, I am looking for a better opportunity.

I feel burned out working 14/15 hours a day and only getting paid for 10hrs. With no motivation to go to work, my mental health it’s not where it needs to be because there’s always so much drama in my work place.

I’m a new winter grad and I feel absolutely horrendous. As much as I don’t want to admit it I’ve never been more depressed in life. It’s not even bc I’ve lost the stress from school, it’s that I really don’t look forward to my job.

I’ve always wanted to travel the world but I’m in finance and in the role I am in there’s no way for me to do that. I’ve also always wanted to start some kind of food business but it feels like a pipe dream especially given the risk and trade off. Any suggestions?

Well I recently told a guy I have been seeing I have HSV-2. We have not yet been physical but it’s been heading that direction. Man I hate this part - waiting to see what his response will be after he researches and talks to his doctor. I’m on daily meds which help reduce transmission risk. You’d think that since HSV-2 affects 20% of Americans and likely a higher % of gay men, there would be less taboo but it’s hardly ever talked about. Anyone else in my shoes? I am a traditional reservist so I never really used military benefits before, but could use advice here.

I am currently renting and my lease is not up until October 2021, however I found a good deal on a home and scheduled to close in June 2021.

My landlord will not work with me to end the lease early, so it looks like I will have to double up on rent and mortgage through the summer.

If I went on active duty orders, can I use those orders to break my lease early without penalty?
