Bain & Company Hi there! I'm looking to connect, and hopefully receive a referral for the Bain Associate Consultant Intern program in a SEA office. Happy to connect further, perhaps jump into a short call, for you to learn more about me and determine whether I'm a good fit. Thank you and really appreciate it! Bain & Company

I second talking to your union rep. If this is the first you're hearing about this, then you've been hustled. There is a process that needs to be followed if you're not doing your job correct. Verbal warning, written warnings. IEP knowledge can be easily taught. They did you a disservice by not teaching you how to do them correctly. Does your admin and team not sit in your IEP meetings? They should all be helping you get this right. What do your evaluations look like? If you have had good evaluations, then they have no standing to let you go. If you want to fight it, you have more rights than it seems they're letting on.
I hope you expressed that to them. When I started there were no special education mentors. They had all left. It’s a shame but even university programs do not spend a lot of time on the IEP process. I wonder about what the alternative route looks like. You would think they would have regular yearly trainings on how to write IEPs.
Go to your union representative and tell them.
I’m sorry to hear that was their answer. You should have been given a mentor when you started. Never be shy to ask for help .
This is exactly why majority of the parents have advocates. The schools aren’t taking the time to properly train the teachers. I’m sorry you’re going through this.
Yes, go to your union, but I would get the hell out of there! Sounds like an awful school, and district that has systemic ethical and moral issues
You’re not alone.
I can relate as I have worked 4 years in this district and I got a letter before the start of school saying that I would not be recommended for rehire come September. This would have been the year I make tenure as well. I am teaching a reading program I got about an hour or training on 2 years ago. Last year I did all math. I was not told of any reports due for my position every month, of not for another teacher friend I would not have known.
If you were an intern the union will not be able to help. Not in my district anyway.
