I keep hearing that I need to show more leadership to get promoted, but no one can explain what that actually means. I already mentor newer reps, share playbooks, and step in when deals get messy. Still, the feedback stays vague. What does leadership really look like from an IC seat? How have you made that visible to execs without turning into a self-promoting nightmare?

You can't be visible with such vague feedback. It means different things to different people. Whoever is giving you that feedback you're going to have to communicate with them to define what that looks like tangibly. Not before you document all that you've done to point in categories.

Having clear kpis to measure against helps bring clarity and focus. Then when you've done what you can to hit those kpis and in their next performance review they try to do one over you the you'll have your answer.

Trying to figure out if I should start as an inbound SDR, or try jumping straight into an AE role in SaaS.

I left mortgages at the beginning of the year to start a franchise business, it's now semi-self-sufficient so wanted to start a career again and I live in the Silicon Slopes area. Everyone I know is in SaaS or software engineering.

Just wondering if I should push my resume as far as possible and try to snag an AE role or take my time in a new industry and start from the bottom.

How much actual court experience should a junior litigator expect to get in the first year? I've been my firm 6 months as a civil litigator not and have yet to go to a hearing. There have been a few (all relatively minor) but each time the partner tells me it's not important enough for me to attend. As a junior, I feel like I need to learn and no hearing is to minor. How else am I supposed to learn?
