I know there are many unfortunate layoffs going on in tech and other industries. And I deeply feel for those effected. But I just wanted to ask if recruiters or hiring managers remember that there are people who graduated during the height of the pandemic in summer of 2020 and their summer internships and job offers were rescinded due to the pandemic. Many of us still have not been able to recuperate from that. Much like the graduates of 2008 when the market crashed.

Really good point - I don't think anyone has acknowledged the difficulties that entry level professionals are facing and nor is there a lot of sympathy.

Thank you for acknowledging this! It has been tough for many of us. Most of my peers just found whatever they could and have stayed there or they ended moving out of state. But I just don’t have the ability to move out of state unfortunately.

My friend just got out of a relationship and hooked up with his ex's best friend a week later. They're now dating and seeing each other everyday.
I couldn't help but feel like this wasn't an appropriate thing to do for both parties. He also revealed that he cheated on his past exes.

I'm naturally feeling a bit weary of his character and questioning whether this is a friend I want to keep close in my life. Perhaps I'm being too judgmental?

Got a verbal confirmation for an offer from recruiter. Now she is negotiating my pay with the compensation team instead of me. I thought I had to do the negotiations with that team? Hi,
I have got an offer from Accenture and the fixed amount is 16lac and the only deduction they said will happen is PF from this 16 lac and it seems I need to bifurcate the split ups for the basic HRA and other allowance during the onboarding time.
Could anyone have any suggestions if this is a normal process for Accenture where they ask us to fill up the split ups.
Also, help me calculate the in hand approx for this.

Nice bowl to avoid lowering the average in the US-centric threads. Anybody else finding that with the lack of pay rises this year, it’s become even harder to benchmark? Had a few recruiters recently suggesting I’d get 25% more by moving to a competitor but no telling whether that’s a short term-gain for a longer term hit.

Hi,

I am graduating this December and looking for full time roles starting January 2023. I have 2 years of data science work experience before my Masters and I'm currently working part-time as a data science engineer - building data pipelines, dashboards; optimizing, packaging and deploying ML models.

I'm looking for referrals in data science space. I can share my github profile/resume/github page if you need more information. Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
