I left my Operations manager role last June and prior to that I had a successful career in Operations and Supply Chain and been applying non-stop for jobs for over 7 months by now. mainly on LinkedIn and lately on Glassdoor too and rarely on Ziprecruiter. I'm having trouble landing enough interviews to land my next job. I've been hearing that the market is bad but 7 months bad? there definitely were a lot of times that I lost my self-worth. any tips would be highly appreciated.

Keep going. Persistence is key. Consider whether your CV is targeted to the job in the right way. Or maybe you need a career change.

I'm in a similar boat. 8 months and not one job offer with only a few interviews. I am getting desperate. I will accept the first offer because being without work is terrifying.
I keep reevaluating my resume and my interview answers and I am hopeful but I am considering a career change because the competition is tough.

One question I always ask is "what has been a challenge in filling this role?" This pretty much asks what are you looking for that someone hasn't had. One company answered "it hasn't been a challenge we had over 250 applicants and haven't found the right one".
I have relevant experience but there may be someone more experienced or cheaper.

There really is such a direct correlation between cringey title and cringey posts.

Before LinkedIn...to me, the king of professional cringey was Shingy. Do you guys remember him? He was aol's overpaid "digital prophet" and got paid to visit companies at lunchtime and babble the same kind of nonsense we now call "LinkedIn cringe".

Does anyone else feel that the more content someone puts in their LinkedIn headline, the more full of it they are? I say this as someone with a bunch of stuff lol but at least it’s all at one company and accurate.

I’m talking mostly about two kinds of people. 1. The influencer who is actually unemployed, but lists 25 BS things they do
2. The brand collector, who writes “ex-“ for every former company they worked at and school they went to. Maybe less full of it but still insufferable.

Does anyone think it’s a good idea to beg for a job and put your personal life out there to get sympathy, because that is what I am seeing every day on LinkedIn and then the recruiters and everybody will comment and send the jobs and they will end up with a job or interview the next day.
I’m getting close to the point of doing that because it seems like it is working.

I woke up today tired.

My work cell was buzzing and then I remembered something.

I forgot to thank the bus driver that dropped me off a few days ago.

I got up and rushed downstairs to find the bus driver.

It was raining outside but I was already running barefoot to the bus stop.

I stood there soaked in my pajamas as the bus approached.

Then, the door opened. The driver got up and shook my hand.

I sat down and started my shift.

I’m the bus driver. Reminder to love and thank yourself.
